Recently, children and young people across the world have experienced a major disrution to their education and wellbeing. Those from the most disadvantaged backgrounds and our most vulnerable children have been the most affected. In order to try to address this, the government announced they were to spend £1 billion to support children and close the gap. The funding is to be used to support children who have fallen behind for a variety of reasons and who have barriers preventing them from achieving their potential. We are using a variety of learning methods and strategies to identify need and provide targeted intervention and support to overcome the barriers to learning. These include:

Additional learning support assistants in each classroom to deliver interventions, catch-up and well-being programmes

Additional teaching staff to provide support and intervention in key year groups

Additional intervention leader across the federation to deliver programmes for intervention and assess impact

INSIGHT twilight training for staff on tracking and identifying need and measuring impact of interventions

We are using the provision maps of teaching staff and progress data from our existing tracking and assessment system to ensure maximum impact of this additional support.
Half termly pupil progress meetings with teacher/intervention lead/SENDCo are being held to discuss individual need and measure impact.
